Why this exists

Electric ukuleles are hard to find in one place

Shops list what they stock, review sites list what they were sent, and the small builders only turn up in shopping cards. This directory lists every electric ukulele we can document, from the big brands' acoustic-electrics to one-person solid-body shops, with the specs restated from the maker's own page and a note of where and when it was read.

Solid body electric ukuleles

14 instruments

No acoustic chamber. They need an amp, and they are the hardest electric ukuleles to find in one place.

Semi-hollow electric ukuleles

1 instrument

A chambered or thinline body with a pickup: some acoustic voice unplugged, built to be played amplified.

Acoustic-electric ukuleles

30 instruments

An acoustic ukulele with a built-in pickup or preamp, so it plugs straight into an amp or a mixer.

Bass ukuleles

22 instruments

Bass ukuleles (U-Bass and the like): short-scale basses in a ukulele body, nearly always with a pickup.

Hybrid and other electric ukuleles

3 instruments

Instruments that do not fit the other boxes: guitarleles, steel-string ukes, multi-neck builds and experiments.

The collection
